The Rice fields, as a symbol of the East, gave the name of this charity project in which Japanese haiku poetry merged into one with photographs.
The three photographers from Varna – Dimitrina Vassileva, Plamen Mihaylov and Svetoslav Ivanov, took the challenge to combine photographs with haiku. Without losing their individual style and worldview, they offer three different views on haiku texts of Vladislav Hristov. The result is a synthesis of image and text that would not be complete without the participation of the viewer. 37 works as the 37 frames of photographic film, bringing a message of sympathy for the distress Japanese people.
The project “Rice fields” ware presented on 21 April from 19.00 at Radio Varna – Art Salon, Boulevard Primorski 22 and can be seen to May 5.
Revenues generated from sales will be transferred to the International Red Cross to help victims of earthquake in Japan during the month of March 2011
